In decorating and renovating, paint jobs are always part of the discussion, from the color or shade of the paint to the type of paint that you are going to use. Today there are a lot of different types of paints, from semi-gloss paints to flat paints as well eggshells paints. Most often semi-gloss and flat paints are used for homes and buildings. Semi-gloss paint is a better interior paint than an exterior paint for it can be so reflective at times. Using semi-gloss paints needs wall preparation like sanding and smoothing surfaces of walls. It may as well need a primer that is near the paints shade, for semi-gloss paints may emphasize scratches and dings on the walls. It is as well less durable compared to other type paints but is very easy to clean. Simple wipes can make the wall as good as new.

Flat paints on the other are very durable; they may not be ruined by simple scratches and bump of furniture on the walls. It is mostly recommended for old structures or houses, for it is able to hide scratches and dents on the walls. Flat paint though is very hard to clean when stained for dirt can easily penetrate the paint.
